Oatmeal Dry Shampoo

Yes, oatmeal can even help you with bad hair days if you use it to make a dry shampoo.
  • 2 Tbsp powdered oatmeal
  • 2 Tbsp baking soda
Use a coffee grinder or food processor to grind the oatmeal into a fine powdery texture. Measure 2 Tbsp of this powder and combine it with the baking soda. Use by rubbing a little of the dry shampoo onto your hair. Comb or brush the dry shampoo out of your hair. Oatmeal dry shampoo absorbs the extra oil from your scalp and hair, so you don’t even need to shower before you leave the house!

Honey and Oatmeal Face Scrub

Combined with honey, oatmeal makes a gentle but effective exfoliating agent.
  • 2 Tbsp oatmeal
  • ½ cup raw milk
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 1 Tbsp honey
Stir together the oatmeal and milk. Next add the honey and olive oil and combine well. Let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes, allowing the oatmeal to absorb the liquid and become smooth and soft. Apply the scrub and use your fingers to rub it in a circular motion all over your face. Continue doing this for about 2 or 3 minutes; then follow by rinsing with cool water. This scrub exfoliates your skin, getting rid of dead cells and leaving you radiant. The honey helps moisturize your skin, leaving it soft and smooth.

Baking Soda Oatmeal Body Scrub

  • 1 part oatmeal
  • 1 part baking soda
  • Warm water
Stir the baking soda and oatmeal together and begin adding the water. Stir in enough water to make a thick soupy paste. Continue stirring for about 10 minutes to allow the oatmeal to absorb the water and become smooth. Gently rub the body scrub all over your skin to exfoliate. The combination of baking soda and oatmeal makes this scrub especially effective at removing dead skin cells and leaving your skin refreshed and rejuvenated.

Egg Yolk and Oatmeal Face Mask

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 Tbsp oatmeal
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
Beat the egg yolk and oatmeal together. Add lemon juice and mix thoroughly. Use your fingers to apply the paste to your skin, smoothing it upwards. Leave it on your skin for about 10 minutes; then rinse it away with cool water. This is a good facial treatment to tighten and firm dry skin. Start using it before you turn thirty to avoid wrinkles and other signs of age. What are you waiting for? Why not head to your kitchen and try some of these recipes today? 🙂
